It has an energy efficient soft start brushless motor for longer runtimes, an electric brake and and an LED load status indicator - under excessive load conditions, the LEDs will start blinking to alert the user. The DLW140Z is supplied as a bare tool without batteries. It shares battery compatibility with all Makita 18v LXT cordless tools but requires two batteries to run.
