Fleischmann 7760001 N 8pc set gas turbine train set BR 602 of DB

Gas turbine train set series 602 of the German Federal Railways.Consists of two traction heads (one motorized) and six intermediate carriages.Lack of power from the diesel-powered VT 11.5 (BR 601) led in 1971 to the conversion of four power heads to gas turbine drive, the most striking feature of which was now the large air inlets in front of the cab that supplied the turbine with air. Due to deficiencies, the operation of these trains became increasingly uneconomic, which is why the 1978 and 1979 trains running under the designation BR 602 were decommissioned by the DB. Only the 602 003 traction unit has been retained for museum purposes; it is now found in the Nuremberg DB Museum. This text is machine translated.
