Powerful and elegant queen-size railThey were once queens on European rails: The four-cylinder express train locomotives from Saxony, Baden, Wuerttemberg, Bavaria and Sweden. Based on the inspiration from the German track stars, the Swedish State Railways SJ had to build eleven Pacific fast train locomotives of type F between 1914 and 1916, the design of which was based on the famous Wuerttemberg C The Swedes also put emphasis on an elegant and attractive appearance, including a wind-like cab. Soon the F-Locs conquered the important main lines Stockholm – Malmoe and Stockholm – Gothenburg, which, however, were operated completely electrically in the 1930s.
