   Great subscription free Doorbell
   I was after a new Doorbell to replace my existing one with an expensive subscription, trying to find the one with the best reviews I opted for the Tapo D235. First impressions are it’s a good replacement and within 2 yrs it’ll of paid for itself. Easy to set up, picture quality on a par with my previous doorbell, but it has a much wider angle showing further down the street. At first it wouldn’t connect to Alexa, but just did a fresh install of Alexa on another android device and it now works fine accross all my devices. I read on another review that you can only have the one master account on one device, this is easily resolved by using the same log in details over a number of devices. App seems ok, no adverts like reported on some other apps apart from it asking you use the cloud storage. Time will tell if this is a good investment but first impressions are good. Edit…A week on, after a few tweaks I’ve now managed to stop all false alarms without missing the notifications that matter. Would give It 6 stars if I could.

   The best doorbell camera on the market
   I spent a long time researching doorbell cameras before deciding to buy the Tapo D235. Having installed and used the camera for a few days, I’m delighted by the product. The stand-out combination of features which set it apart from any others available are as follows:1. Can operate as a wired or battery doorbell. The D235 has a big battery so can be used for months using battery power, but I happened to have an existing mains-powered doorbell so am using it wired. The D235 accepts 8-24V AC so will work with a wide range of doorbell transformers. Apart from never having to worry about charging it, in wired mode the camera operates continuously. That means that when movement is detected the clip includes 4 seconds BEFORE it’s triggered so you don’t miss the start of the action;2. The camera accepts a 512GB micro SD card so can record video without an expensive subscription. Tapo does offer a cloud-based storage service (which is cheaper than others) if you want it, but you have the option of storing locally for free;3. The camera has built-in AI without extra charge which can categorise the type of movement recorded as Person, Pet, Vehicle, Package or other movement. I have lots of vehicles driving past my house, so I can set the camera to only notify me if it sees a Person or a Package (left on the doorstep);4. The camera has a very wide angle of view (nearly 180°). That means I can see anyone approaching my front window and side gate as well as the front door;5. The Tapo app is very flexible and intuitive to use so setting the doorbell up the way you want it is easy;6. The package includes a wireless chime which works well but the doorbell also integrates with smart speakers (Amazon Echo in my case) so the speaker announces when someone is at the front door.Overall it’s a great package for the price. I also like the tall/slim design which fits well at the side of my door.

   Great Doorbell
   I had been comparing many doorbells and found this Tapo D235 doorbell which after a recommendation of tapo doorbells from a CCTV security company, having owned a previous indoor tapo camera and noting this doorbell can be powered from existing doorbell wiring, I decided to buy it.In the box comes the doorbell itself, a chime, 2 types of wedges and backing plate, charging cable, jumper cable to bypass the existing chime, wired to extend the doorbell wiring, adhesive strip screws and installation guide.Installing the doorbell can either be stuck to the wall using the supplied adhesive strip or in my case drilling holes and screwing in the back plate and wedge (optional). The doorbell then clicks onto the back plate.Before touching any wiring the doorbell needed to be switched off at the circuit breaker.Once the back plate was fixed on to the wall I connected the 2 existing doorbell wires to the 2 screw points at the bottom rear of the doorbell. Next I had to bypass the existing chime as I wanted to power the doorbell from the existing wiring. This was a bit tricky as the wiring for my chime didn’t look like the guidance from tapo. After as few tries it was up and working and the tapo app does tell you if it is actively being powered from the hard wiring or the battery.The app is useful as it guides you through this setup and once done helps you configure the doorbell itself.Operating the doorbell over the last week I’ve found the doorbell was highlighting motion outside of the boundary areas I setup. What mostly fixed this had been reducing the sensitivity of this event type and found you can re-assign events it’s found to re-train the doorbell AI. Other than that I’ve also managed to connect my Google mini and other phones to receive notifications from the doorbell. Note the Google mini also sounds the chime. The video quality both day and night is good and I can make out people, cars etc clearly.Few things to watch out for. The battery is internal and cannot be replaced like other tapo models. If hard wiring check your chime and online YouTube videos to see if you’ll come across any issues. If you need extra chimes currently you cannot buy any and it’s not clear the tapo hub which has a chime supports this doorbell. The doorbell needs a stable WiFi connection as my mobile 5G router didn’t work well with it but the broadband one did.Overall I’m happy with the doorbell and would recommend it.

   A great video doorbell! Well done Tapo
   This is a great video doorbell. With a lot of flexibility to use as battery or wired doorbell. This is my replacement for a 4 year old ring wired doorbell. I love the fact that it will suit any situation maybe you don’t have wiring it has a big battery, or you have wiring and you can hardwire. Maybe you don’t want to pay for a subscription anymore in which case your can use an SD card and record locally. The app is great and will initiate a call to your iPhone when someone rings your doorbell. The quality is great and you can also record 24/7. It has all sorts of detection categories and colour night vision. I found the audio clarity is excellent too. I also got it working with an echo show via the Alexa app. Tapo have made a seriously good product here, so forget those subscription doorbells and get this one.

   Ben bu ürünü buzdolabı ( normal alan, buzluk değil ) içinde kullanıyorum. Buz dolabım bozulmuştu ve sensörlerindeki arıza ve anakartının berbat oluşu, yetkili servisin Türkiyeden kaçıp gitmesi nedeni ile ( Hot….Po marka buzdolabı) bu termometre ile hayat verdim. Tapo 100+akıllı priz+birde bu termometre. Bu termometre programlanabilir olduğu için, sıcaklık 4 C derece altına düştüğünde sinyal göndererek prizin kapanmasını, haliylede buz dolabının elektriğinin gitmesini, yani kapanmasını sağlıyor. Buz dolabı içinde aydınlatmada olmuyor ama ne yaparsın, çöpe gidecek buz dolabını, bir anda wifili, cep telefonundan takip edebildiğim, çok düştüğünde alarm, çok yükseldiğinde alarm veren, akıllı buzdolabı haline getirdim. Neyse devam edelim, sıcaklık 6 C derece üzerine ( veya siz neye ayarlarsanız ) çıktığında prize elektrik ver talimatı göndererek ( bu haberleşmeyi tapo H-100 üzerinden yapıyor, wifi ile değil, sinyal ile, wifi haberleşmesini tapo h100 hallediyor ) buz dolabına elektrik geliyor, buz dolabına elektrik gelmesinin ardından 8 dk sonra buz dolabı çalışmaya başlıyor. Buz dolabı fanınıda ince tel kablosu çekerek bir adaptörden elektrik alıyorum. ( buzlu bölüm, dondurucu ) başka bir tapo prizi bağladığımdan, sinyaller aynı anda onada gidiyor, yani birlikte hareket ediyorlar ( Bu fan kontrolü önemli yoksa sıcaklığı tutturamazsınız, ya donarlar, ya ısınırlar) İşte 1 yıldır böyle kullanıyorum. Neyse ayrıntıya çok girmeyim. Bu alet çok işlevsel ve akıllı. Aynı zamanda kaliteli. Tavsiye ederim.

   I bought 3 of them, it came from UK. They charged me import taxes, and when I tested them, none of them worked. When I tried to return it, they said I have to pay for return. The shipping, for me, was the same price I paid for the items. Is good that Amazon simply refunded me. But never buy from them again.
