Bollom Brosteel Ultra 60 is a thin-film waterborne intumescent fire metal paint designed to provide 30 and 60 minutes fire resistance on structural steel members in internal environments. Applied to primed steelwork, this coating works by softening and expanding in the event of a fire to form a carbon foam layer that insulates and protects the structure from intense heat. The waterborne formulation is easy to apply by brush or airless spray, with no specialist application skills required. Before application, steelwork must be primed with a compatible anti-corrosion primer suited to the building environment, with a dry film thickness not exceeding 100 microns.
