The Aberlour 12 is a single malt, double matured Scotch whisky. From the Speyside region of Scotland, it is first matured in traditional American, then Sherry oak casks. This results in the single malt having a rich and smooth taste, balanced with fruity and chocolate notes making it the winner of the 2019 International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) Bronze award. This expertly crafted whisky is a perfect gift to offer for special occasions or to treat yourself as an everyday dram. It comes in a 70 cl (700 ml) bottle at 40% ABV, and is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks.Founded by James Fleming in 1879, the Aberlour distillery produces some of the finest single malt Scotch whiskies. It is located in the village of Aberlour, Scotland, next to the River Spey, surrounded by water from the Lour Burn, ‘the chattering burn’. Aberlour’s distillers and blenders have a combined 120 years of experience. It is this depth of experience and unwavering vision that delivers the outstanding quality for which Aberlour is famed. The expert layering of spirit and cask has created a range of expertly crafted single malt whiskies with layers of complexity and a velvet richness.
The 12 year-old is a fine example of how the distinctively crisp, citrus character of Aberlour’s new make distillate is deftly softened by double cask maturation
Traditional oak and seasoned Sherry butts are both used to great effect and the spirits within are combined to deliver a subtly balanced flavour

    A superb Speyside classic!
    I’m a big fan of Speyside whiskies, and the Aberlour 12 Year Old is a fantastic example. It’s a beautifully balanced and smooth single malt with a lovely sherry influence. On the nose, you get notes of rich dried fruits, vanilla, and a hint of spice. The taste is equally impressive, with flavors of sweet apple, toffee, and a creamy, nutty character. The finish is long, warm, and very satisfying.This is an incredibly drinkable whisky that’s perfect for both newcomers to single malts and seasoned enthusiasts. It’s great on its own, neat or with a splash of water, and offers excellent value for the quality you get. A definite must-have for any whisky lover’s cabinet. Highly recommended!

    I recently tried the Aberlour 12 Year Old, and I wanted to share my thoughts! First off, the packaging is really impressive. It comes in this beautifully designed box that feels very special and high-quality. It would make a fantastic gift for anyone who enjoys sophisticated drinks. The box itself is so well-made and looks really fancy.When it comes to the drink itself, the color is a lovely golden brown, kind of like a really rich apple juice, maybe with a touch of honey mixed in to give it that warm glow. It’s very smooth, which is something I really appreciate. It’s easy to drink and doesn’t have any harshness.The taste is a delightful combination of sweet and warm flavors. It reminds me of toffee, like the delicious toffee you’d find in a candy store, and there’s also a hint of cinnamon and ginger, like a freshly baked, warm cookie straight from the oven! On top of that, there’s a fruity note, like a subtle hint of apples. It’s a really enjoyable and comforting taste.Overall, the Aberlour 12 Year Old is a warm and tasty drink. I really enjoyed it! It feels like a special, grown-up drink that would be perfect for celebrating special occasions.

    Very nice smooth single malt
    Really nice whisky, picked up a bottle on Prime Day offer.Always used to love the peaty Islay heavy hitters but my tastes are widening into less potent expressions.I’m never amazing at picking out exact flavour profiles but it definitely has a rich sweetness on the palate with a clean finish.Very smooth and pleasant. Particularly great deal at £29.99.

    I found this on sale for around £30 and it’s one of the best value whiskys I have.If you like sherry cask whisky this is a must in your collection, good nose and fantastic taste
